National School of Drama (NSD)

National School of Drama (NSD) is a theatre training institute situated at New DelhiIndia. It is an autonomous organization underMinistry of CultureGovernment of India. It was set up in 1959 by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, and became an independent school in 1975.
Training in the School is highly intensive and is based on a thorough, comprehensive, carefully planned syllabus which covers every aspect of theatre and in which theory is related to practice. As a part of their training, students are required to produce plays which are then performed before the public. NSD provides a comprehensive three-year course of training in Dramatic Arts, with specialization available in direction, acting and stagecraft.
