As it is a new medium of communicating,photojournalism has a big scope in the industry. As you know a picture speaks louder than a word that is why all the big houses are looking for good photojournalists but experience counts a lot . It is a very interesting field as you may get the chance to travel around the world but  no doubt a challenging field too. 

A photojournalist should be a visual storyteller because he presents the story in a way that no other media can present it. One thing which a photojournalist should be aware of is the technology and tools updation as it will help him in quick and smart work.He should be very attentive and sharp, lacking which he can miss the required shot.

Now the question is do you need any kind of education for this purpose? So, the answer is Yes . You can go for the bachelors and masters degree course to pursue the career. One can also opt for the diploma in photography.

Working timings of a photojournalist is uncertain. A photojournalist should be able to work in the unfavourable conditions. he may have to be on call 24-7 as he can be called anytime to cover any event. He should be able to work independently by meeting the deadline and many projects at a time.

Starting salary may vary but one can earn a good amount by working as a freelancer.
