MASS COMMUNICATION 

Mass Communication means sharing of information or a message with a large number of people at one place or at several places in one country or many countries. We communicate with one another by directing a message to one or more of the senses-sight, sound, touch, taste or smell. Many social scientists studied the effect of mass communication within the society. This has resulted in a number of theories which essentially trace the relationship between mass communication and society.

Without mass communication it is difficult to imagine what the world would look like. Media also acts a cultural transmitters that teaches us, inform us and educates us. Initially people used the media for their entertainment but now it has been advanced. People watch television to gain information by news, discovery channels etc..

Without communication it is impossible to live. Reports show that a pregnant lady when left in isolation and a lady between people gives more healthy baby if compared to the isolated woman.
So, communication is the basic need of living like food, clothes, shelter.

Today various mediums are available like print media, electronic media, online media to communicate with masses. Not only this traditional Folk media is also the form of mass communication. Folk media is basically used in rural area like folk dance, or music, theatre, nukkad natak etc.

There are many ways to communicate with masses. Now a days mass communication courses are also available in colleges in order to become expertise.
