CHHATH PUJA


Today being the final day of Chhath , why not to learn something about this festival. The four day festival includes strict rituals which includes holy bathing , fasting,Praying and offering food to the rising and setting sun. It is mainly celebrated by the people of Bihar. This festival is dedicated to God Sun and his wife Usha . She is also known as Chhathi maiya the younger beloved wife of Lord Sun.

This festival is observed with the believe that god Sun will full fill their all wishes. God is worshipped by offering Argahya to the setting sun on third day and rising sun on the fourth day after which this festival is considered as completed. This time the festival started on 11th November and ending on 14th November.

It is important to mention that once someone has started to worship Chhati maiya then it becomes compulsory to perform it every year and pass it on to the next generations . Once it is started cannot be stopped and once stopped cannot be started.
