The Rise of E-Sports: Good, Bad or Ugly?

Introduction

The rise of E-Sports has been nothing short of meteoric. In just a few short years, competitive gaming has gone from a niche interest to a global phenomenon, with professional gamers now earning millions of dollars in prize money.

However, not everyone is happy about the rise of E-Sports. Some worry about the impact it is having on young people, particularly when it comes to mental health. So, is the rise of E-Sports a good thing or a bad thing? Let’s take a look at the evidence.

E-sports providing opportunities at multi-level

The report first looks at the development of the e-sports industry and how it has evolved over the years. It then looks at the different opportunities that e-sports can provide for individuals, teams and organizations. The e-sports industry has grown significantly in recent years and is now a multi-million dollar industry. This growth has led to increased opportunities for individuals, teams and organizations within the e-sports industry.

However, individuals can now compete in e-sports competitions for prize money and sponsorship deals. Teams can sign professional e-sports players and organizations can invest in e-sports teams and events. The e-sports industry provides opportunities at a range of levels, from grassroots to professional. This means that there are opportunities for everyone, whether you are a casual gamer or a professional e-sports player.

The Bad: Mental health issues due to e-sports

While there are many benefits to playing video games, including improved hand-eye coordination and problem-solving skills, there are also some risks. One of the biggest risks is the impact on mental health. Players who spend a lot of time playing video games can become isolated from the real world and become addicted to the game. This can lead to mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. Not only mental illness but also many more health hazards can occur while sitting over a single place without moving your body and eye from screen for several hours such as; eyesight issues, lazy, less creative, posture issues, diabetic issue and deep vein thrombosis.

While there is no conclusive evidence that playing video games causes mental health problems, it is important to be aware of the potential risks. The main concern is those who are into live streaming and gaming in e-sports they never keep any B plan which one should always keep as in secondary option. The issues come from poor planning and not being farsighted, though joining an e-sport organization for a young gamer isn’t exactly thinking about where they will be in 10 years. Sometimes they need to deal with criticism and negativity on the internet.

Conclusion

In the end all I wanted to say is before coming into e-sports industry be mentally prepared to tackle all these issues. The rapid growth in this industry is enhancing the use of digital media as well as providing variety of opportunities to the youth so that they can meet some easy source of income as per their interest. Using anything wisely and after a certain age is secure and safe and as an individual one should always keep their life balanced with a limited and proper use of it.
