My kind of PUNJAB
Punjab has always been land of great saints and fighters. The word Punjab is made by the combination of words PANJ means (five) and AB means (water). The five rivers which flow in Punjab are Beas, Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi and Satlej.
Punjab has a very vast culture and it has a vibrant celebration of festivals like Lohri, Baisakhi,Teej etc.
Punjab has one of the oldest and richest cultures of the world. Its diversity and uniqueness is evident in the Punjabi poetry, philosophy, spirituality, education, artistry, music, cuisine, science, technology, military warfare, architecture, traditions, values and history.
If you really adore Sikhism and wish to understand more about it, then “AMRITSAR” is a must see destination for you. The Golden temple in Amritsar is one of the most famous GURUDWARA in the world, at all the times of day there are people doing “ARDAAS” in the gurudwara, it truly sends a sort of relaxation into the whole body. For food lover's Amritsar is actually a paradise on earth, Kanha Sweets & Munim Di Hatti at Lawrence road are one of the best places to enjoy Amritsari food, but if you are in Amritsar then I must say that you should try golden temple's langar.
Now we all know “CHANDIGARH” as the capital city of both Punjab and Haryana but many of us don’t know that Chandigarh is also recognised as shopping hub of the country.
This city never gives you a chance to leave empty handed. Luxury clothes Brands, Antique shops, Furniture shops, Home decoration stuff, Jewellery stores and many types of Street foods can be found on the streets of Chandigarh.
If you are in Punjab, you can never be short of options for weekends and holidays there are alot of places to go like Jallianwala bagh, Wagah border, Rock garden and the most famous Sri Harmandir Sahib(the Golden temple)
