"Picture says more than words", and a good picture describes itself without explanation.
But there are scenes where there are more than one subjects to show.
For that there are different types of lenses available in the market at different budgets and needs.
For a photographer and photograph , lenses are necessary because the details, contrast , saturation and many more things matters in a picture.
There is no perfect lens available for every situation so we have to manage pros and cons and pickup the best compromise
For capturing different scenarios there are different lenses described below...
1... Wide angle lenses
A wide angle lens let's you to capture beyond the view of standard lens and are of short focal lengths and ultra wide lenses are called fish eye lenses.
2... Standard lenses
A standard lens has same angle of view as human eye , so there are most standard lenses used by new photographers
3...Macro lens
A macro lens is made for closeup photography and for capturing the micro world.
4... Telephoto lens
This type of lens has a long focal length and provides a high level of magnification, allowing you to photograph subjects at a moderate to far distance.
5...Specialist lens
A specialist lens is used to produce some sort of special or creative effect, and so they have limited use in general photography.
6...Kit lens
This type of lenses are call "starter" lenses
These are good for getting you up and running quickly but they are generally very cheap, slow lenses with poor image quality.

If you can't find a suitable lens that's within your budget then resist the temptation to buy something cheaper but which doesn't quite do what you want it to do. Camera lenses tend to last for years, so it's usually better to wait and save money until you can afford the one you really want..
