Misuse of feminism

There was a time when feminism was a need,
but now it's getting misused and mislead.
My statement doesn't mean that I am an anti feminist, but, i have some facts to show you the
other side of the coin, which proves that feminism to some extent is getting misused and
mislead, and leaving a bad impact on society. before i go further, here is what i think you should
know. "Mark Ruffalo" said very beautiful lines about modern women.
• You are degrading every woman who has accessed a rape crisis centre, which wouldn't exist
without the feminist movement.
• You are undermining every woman who fought to make marital rape a crime.
• You are spitting on the legacy of every woman who fought for women to be allowed to own
property, for the abolition of slavery and the rise of labour union.
• For the right to divorce.
• For women to be allowed to have access to birth control.
However, the modern women have completely changed the definition of feminism especially in
urban areas, they have started demanding everything in the name of feminism. Rather, feminism
is a need today as well, because, larger portion of woman is still facing domestic violence. It is
needed because girl child are still getting aborted at initial stage and females are underpaid as
compared to their Male colleagues, regardless at the same position. Women are still suffering
from sexual harassment. But if we talk about modern women. Questions arises, where does
this feminism and equality goes when a young and healthy 20-year-old female is offered a seat
by 35-40-year old Male in bus or metro? Why do they get a tax leverage than males? Why only
37% of dowry cases filed are proven genuine? Why the divorce ratio has gone high within the 1st
year of marriage? There are lots of why's, but unfortunately none has been answered. Moreover,
women have no remorse or qualms to say that all men want is sex but, Severely criticise a movie
like Pyar ka punchnama which generalises their behaviour.
A man will be called a rapist so easily in public at the slightest hint given by a female, without a
background check or without taking his justification. But if a woman is called a slut than they
come out on the roads with placards and protest.
If feminism is about equality between men and women, than we should take a stand against the
advantages female get over men. Modern women are literally misusing the rights they have been
given on the name of feminism; by harassing innocent men to gain publicity, to extort money in
false dowry cases, in fake rape and domestic violence cases and so on. Do you think that getting
a freedom to do anything they like, is feminism?
Do not let this fight for equality as a victim game else the whole purpose of feminism will lost
one day. We need to understand the difference between having a feeling hurt and having your
rights diminished.
Women demands equal pay as men, equal civil rights, equal educational opportunities, agreed
and given. But do they ever think that men are underpaid too, denied education, sexually
harassed and raped as well. They are also sold into prostitution and trafficked, less in numbers
but still there.
In a nutshell, I am not an anti-feminist even I am more than happy that it is feminism that allowed
my mother and sisters to get educated and stand in society for themselves. But on the other
hand misuse of it will land up nowhere and end up losing respect for women.
