‎ Delhi is all set to welcome spring as Amrit Udyan opens

‎As winter slowly bids farewell to Delhi and the gentle warmth of spring begins to set in, the capital city prepares to celebrate the season in full bloom. One of the most awaited signs of spring is the opening of the magnificent gardens at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This year, the iconic Amrit Udyan has once again opened its gates for visitors during the Winter Annual Edition 2026.

‎Spread across nearly 15 acres, Amrit Udyan is known for its breathtaking display of diverse and rare plant species. Every year, the gardens attract thousands of visitors to view the vibrant floral arrangements and meticulously maintained landscapes.

‎### What’s New This Year?

‎The 2026 edition brings exciting additions that make the experience even more special:

‎: Babbling Brook

‎A newly introduced water feature, the “Babbling Brook,” is expected to be the highlight this year. The gentle flow of water adds a refreshing charm and creates a serene atmosphere for visitors.

‎Banyan Garden & Reflexology Path:

‎Close to the water feature lies the Banyan Garden, designed as a peaceful retreat. A newly added reflexology path encourages visitors to walk barefoot and experience a mindful connection with nature under the shade of sprawling banyan trees.

‎Bal Vatika (Children’s Garden):

‎A favorite among families, this section features a 225-year-old Sheesham tree. Children can enjoy a unique storytelling experience where the tree narrates its journey, symbolically reflecting India’s transition from colonial rule to independence.

‎### Floral Highlights of 2026

‎This year’s garden display stands as a fine example of horticultural excellence.

Tulips and Roses: More than 85 varieties of tulips, both imported and indigenous, paint the garden in vibrant shades. The Rose Garden features over 150 varieties, including roses named after notable figures such as Mother Teresa and Raja Ram Mohan Roy, along with the famous “Black Rose” (Oklahoma).

Circular Garden (Sunken Garden): Known for its concentric floral patterns, this section showcases marigolds, tall dahlias reaching up to eight feet, and colorful violas. A central bubble fountain enhances its visual appeal.

Bonsai and Herbal Gardens: The Bonsai Garden displays decades-old miniature trees that reflect patience and precision in cultivation. The Herbal Garden celebrates India’s Ayurvedic traditions with plants like tulsi, ashwagandha, and lemongrass.
