NATONAL YOUTH DAY: WHY IS YOUTH IMPORTANT FOR OUR SOCIETY?

Youth is our future and they are working towards making this future a bright one.

Youth is the time in their lives that teaches them how to make decisions and start making reasonable choices for our betterment. This is the capable generation that can bend age-old rituals to create a new world- A better world.

Youth and Social Media

This generation coexists with social media and has used it to create awareness and to make their voices heard. The impact of social media might not be everybody's cup of tea but everyone agrees that the impact is quite powerful.

Youth uses social platforms as a way to create and mingle with people all across the world, and to have a safe space to meet people with alike thought. These media platforms are also used to pursue their hobbies and make it to a full-time career and break the mold made by previous generations to only have a few job options like a doctor, lawyer, IAS officer, etc. Now the youth has shown and encouraged people to follow their passion by being various kinds of influencers.

But this has also been seen as a bad influence for them as they are obsessed with posting their life online which makes it a huge security issue and makes them an easy target for horrendous crimes. This constant need to post everything online can also lead to issues like cyber bullying, trolls, and blackmailing. The unmatchable standards of social media can affect a youth's life gravely and can cause mental health issues.

So, if social media can pave the way for the future, it can also break the said future with one click which gives these platforms and people behind a screen immense power.

Youth Vs. Orthodox Society

The role of youth in this orthodox society is to break traditions that are not inclusive and don't live up to the youth's vision of a better life. Raising voices for topics like equal pay, pride love, mental health awareness, etc.

The women of gen Z are done with getting discriminated against and have taken the matters into their own hands when it comes to equal pay. They don't want to alienate themselves from men just to feel safe, they are teaching men to live with them, the way that suits them best.

Now, everybody feels included as gen Z have shattered gender norms and introduced new pronouns and terms that will help identify people more freely. Terms like Queer, Asexual, Non- Binary, etc. would have never been said in the orthodox generations but now have made their way into people's daily life, normalizing them.

This change is a great thing as it makes everybody equal which the previous generations had made impossible. They have shackled walls of orthodox thinking with a great chance for any nation is.

This shows that even though gen Z is ridiculed by people, they are making some huge steps toward an amazing life for future generations.
