HOLI - The Splash Of Joy &Togetherness
Holi is the festival of vibrant colours in India and across the world. It is known as the festival of colours. It is the mark of the arrival of spring and the end of the winter season. It is a Hindu festival that is loved globally. It is the celebration of love and joy. It is celebrated to keep alive the message of good triumphing over evil.
The heart of Holi lies in an ancient tale. The story revolves around the sister of the demon king "Hiranyakasnipu", who was fueled by his ego and arrogance. He was full of thirst for power. He restricted the worship of lord "Vishnu", who is the preserver of the universe. However, his own son"Prahlad" remained unwavering in his devotion to lord "Vishnu;" to eliminate Prahlad, Hiranyakasnipu took the help of his sister Holika.
Holika who had a magical shawl that was immune to fire together, they plotted to burn Prahlad alive. Holika sat on the fire wearing that magical shawl and she took Prahlad with her in the fire without that protective shawl.
As the flames engulfed them, a miraculous turn unfolded in this plot. shawl bowl off on the Prahlad and safed him against the fire and Holika was perished in the fire protected by unwavering faith of Prahlad in lord Vishnu divine.
The victory is celebrated as Holi. It is inspiring for all of us. It is symbol of goodness & courage. It helps to build our faith in God.
Holi brings families and friends together. Even it brings the strangers even greet each other n this day and play together with colours.
Festival in India is incomplete without delicious food. people eat special sweets & Greets on this day. Gujiya & Malpua is the main sweet dishes for the main sweet dishes for the celebrations. Thandai is also served on this occasion. people share food on this day to add the bond and warmth to the celebrations of Holi.
Children love this festival alot. They play with colours and fill water in the ballons to play. They buy "Pichkari" to spray coloured water.
Holika Dahan is celebrated a day before Holi. On this day families gather around bonfires, perform rituals, sing traditional songs and pray for the prosperity & happiness.
Second day is rangwali Holi which is main celebration where people throw coloured Powders & splash water at each other. People wishes each other by saying " HAPPY HOLI " and apply vibrant colours On each other faces. Music and Dance are essential ingredients of this celebration.
