No WAGs, family on tour , BCCI Set New Guidelines
Focus on Players’ Discipline and Family Stay
BCCI has decided to limit the duration of players’ families accompanying them on overseas tours. Families can stay for 14 days on tours lasting 45 days or more and seven days for shorter tours. The board believes extended family presence during the recent Australia series affected players’ focus and performance.
Unified Travel Rules for Players
BCCI has made it mandatory for all players to travel together on the team bus, removing exceptions for senior players. This rule aims to strengthen team unity and discipline.
Restrictions on Personal Managers
BCCI has prohibited personal managers from staying in team hotels, sitting in VIP boxes, or using team vehicles. The move follows criticism of head coach Gautam Gambhir’s personal manager’s presence during the series.
Performance-Based Pay Structure
To increase accountability, BCCI will introduce a variable pay system. Players underperforming may face financial penalties, while those playing over 50% or 75% of matches will continue to receive higher incentives.
