14 Years, Zero Shortcuts: Why Yami's National Award Hit Different
This wasn't just another award night. On 22nd September, at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat, President Droupadi Murmu handed Yami Gautam her first ever National Award for Article 370. And for the first time in 70 years, the National Awards were held outside Delhi. If you've followed her since Vicky Donor (2012), you know why this feels personal. Why this win is big: 1. She won Best Actress for playing intelligence officer Zooni Haksar in Article 370 - a film certified in 2024, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale. 2. It was a clean sweep. Article 370 didn't win just one, it won 3 National Awards - Best Actress (Yami), Best Feature Film (or Best Film in popular category) and Best Music Direction.
