TRAIN YOUR BRAIN
Your brain has the ability to learn and grow as your age but for this, you have to learn to train your brain on a regular basis.
Research has stated that the best way to improve
cognitive functions like memory recall, concentration, attention and problem
solving is to do regular physical exercise. For example, swimming has cardiovascular
and muscle-building benefits, it also involves constant thinking and learning
process. You have to think and prepare yourself for breathing rhythm and how to
properly kicks.
The best way to keep your brain healthy is to choose
a new activity that requires regular practice and forces you to think and
learn.
Pick one new activity to devote your attention to only
one activity. Schedule your time for practice. Aim for consistency instead of
focusing on the amount of time you practiced. Stick to your commitment,
schedule and do it.
Practicing a new and challenging activity is good
for building and maintain cognitive skills. Learning an instrument, doing
writing, learning a language, doing painting and other art forms also helpful
in improving cognitive function. A brain training activity doesn’t always have
to be exercise related. No matter which new activity you choose, just make sure
that it follows few things which help to maximize brain training.
Challenging: Choosing a new activity is always beneficial. It involves your brain to
learn something new and offers the chances to improve. In order to grow, you
have to always challenge your brain.
Complexity: A complex activity forces your brain to work on specific thought
processes. It involve your brain in creative thinking and problem solving.
Practice: The more time you involve your brain, the more benefit you will get.
Practice makes things permanent and it applies for your brain function also.
Without practicing, you cannot improve your memory. That’s why your activity
requires some level of constant, repetition of working to improve.
