How To Use Lockdown More Efficiently
Ever since we’ve all been forced to sit tight at home considering the grave conditions caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, there’s not a left for us to do. Or is there? If you think of it, this just might be a great time for you to do some productive things at home that you otherwise don’t get time for. You can also spend some quality time with family and catch up with loved ones, which seemed like a far-cry on normal routine days. So stop wondering how not to be bored at home, and start racing your minds on what you can do to put this home quarantine to best use.
1. Read books
Doesn’t that sound nice? We all have been so caught up in our lives and college work that picking up a book to read seemed out of the question. Well, now that you find yourself wondering ‘how can I kill my free time?’, why don’t you use all this free time wisely and finally pick that book off the shelf that you’ve been meaning to read for months now. You won’t know where all those hours went by!
2. Watch films or TV series
When talking about the best way to pass the time at home, binge watching a TV series or reviewing a bunch of classics ranks quite high on most people’s lists. And why wouldn’t it? After all, both these mediums have the power to virtually transport you into a fantasy world, away from the reality. With so much good content available on streaming platforms today, get ready to be spoilt for choice.
3. Pick a new hobby
One of the best and most productive things to do when you are bored is to pick something new and interesting. For instance, you can use this free time to learn a new language, create some art or gain a skill like pottery. Even if you already enjoy something but never had enough time to pursue it, now you do. Gardening, cooking, baking, painting—the options are aplenty, you just have to choose!
4. Spend time with family
Well, this might seem obvious but if you look back, you’ll realise that your everyday life was so busy and fast-paced that you hardly had any time left to spend some quality moments with family. Guess what? Now you have all the time in the world. So make the most of this time by enjoying your meals together, playing games and reliving some old memories (not to miss, sharing the house chores!).
5. Invest in yourself
This is perhaps the most overlooked but one of the most important things you can do while stuck at home instead of worrying about ‘how can I pass time quickly?’. Use this time to the fullest to build your profile or simply look for your creative side–create video content or start a blog. This can also be a great time to get back in shape or reflect on your mental health.
