- T20 World Cup:
India won its second ICC Men's T20 World Cup after 17 years, beating South Africa by seven runs in an exciting final in Barbados. This victory also marked a great end to Rahul Dravid’s time as head coach.

India claimed historic gold in both the Open and women's sections at the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest.
- Paris Olympics:
India secured six medals, including Neeraj Chopra’s silver in javelin, Manu Bhaker’s historic two bronze medals in shooting, and Aman Sehrawat’s wrestling bronze. The men’s hockey team also bagged bronze, giving a memorable farewell to goalkeeper P.R. Sreejesh.
