Since the outbreak of novel coronavirus rumors and disinformation about the disease have been spreading, even more quickly than the virus. We should support each other during this difficult time.Adjusting to the current COVID-19 situation has been a task that everyone across the world
has had to deal with.
➢ Rumor: Older people are more susceptible.
The fact is,people of all ages can be infected by the COVID-19 but older people and those
underlying(such as asthma, diabetes and heart disease) are at higher risk of severe illness.
➢ Rumor: Wearing more than one mask will help prevent infection.
Wearing thicker masks or two disposable surgical masks does not help to prevent transmission
Of noval coronavirus and may cause breathing difficulty.
➢ Rumor: Recovered Patients who test positive, again can transmit the virus.
There is currently no evidence that patients testing positive again after recovery from the coronavirus can transmit the virus. They test positive again because a bit of virus still remains
In their bodies when they are discharged from the hospital. It takes some time for the virus
To be eradicated from the bodies of some patients, especially Seniors.
➢ Rumor: Eating garlic helps keep the virus away.
There is no evidence that eating garlic does help you fend off the virus.
➢ Rumor: Vitamin C helps keep the virus away.
Vitamin C supplements are not an alternative to fresh food.It is not necessary to take extra
Supplements to prevent the disease as long as they get enough nutrition from a balanced
Diet.
Fear, Rumors and lack of knowledge
While fear is certain in this situation, it has been the false rumors on social media that have affected people. Also, the lack of knowledge added to our problems. Some have even created alarm by saying patients infected by the virus have a zero survival rate.
Nobody knows how bad or good things will get from here.
