Bullying

Since years, bullying is done everywhere and it is much evil for students or anyone. Bullying is basically a repeated aggressive behavior that can be done physically, verbally or in-person or online. A bullied person is always in constant fear of being bullied any time anywhere and how far it will go. Being bullied can leave one feel helpless, humiliated, depressed, or even suicidal.
There are different types of bullying stated below -:

• Physical bullying – It includes hitting, kicking, or pushing (or even just threatening to do so), as well as stealing, hiding, or ruining one's things, harassment, or humiliation.
• Verbal bullying – It includes name-calling, taunting, insulting, or verbally abusing someone.
• Relationship bullying – It includes refusing to talk, excluding one from groups or activities, spreading lies or rumors, making to do things which one                     don’t want to do or can’t do. Boys frequently bully using physical threats and actions, while girls are more likely to engage in verbal or relationship bullying. But no type of bullying should ever be tolerated with anyone or any gender.
• Cyber bullying This type of bullying requires digital medium and is done digitally. Cyberbullies use digital technology to harass, threaten, or humiliate you. Unlike traditional bullying, cyberbullying doesn’t require face-to-face contact and isn’t limited to just a handful of witnesses at a time. It also doesn’t require physical power or strength in numbers.
Technology has developed drastically over years. There are good and bad uses of everything.  Developed technology means that bullying is no longer limited to schoolyards or street corners. Cyberbullying can occur anywhere, even at home, throughsmartphones, emails, texts, and social media. It could be done anytime, 24 hours a day and 7days a weekwith potentially hundreds of people involved. Almost anyone with an Internet connection or mobile phone can cyber-bully someone else, often without having to reveal their true identity.
The methods kids and teens use to cyberbully can be as varied as the technology they have access to. They might range from sending threatening or taunting messages through email, text, social media, to breaking into your social media or stealing your online identity to hurt or humiliate you. Some cyberbullies at upper level may even create a website or social media page just to target a person. Because cyber bullying is so easy to do, a child or teen can easily change roles, going from cyber bullied victim at one point to cyber bully the next, and then back again.

The effects of bullying and cyberbullying  -:
Bullied person is often angry, afraid, helpless, hopeless, isolated, ashamed, and even guilty that the bullying is somehow your fault. One may even feel suicidal. Physical health is likely supposed to suffer and miss, skip, or drop out of school to avoid being bullied. The one is at a greater risk of developing mental health problems such as depression, low self-esteem or anxiety.
HOW TO DEAL WITH IT
When one is being bullied, talking to trusted people, can turn for encouragement and support. It will ease your stress and boost your self-esteem. Talk to a parent, teacher, counselor, or other trusted adult. Bullying doesn’t mean that one is weak or there’s something wrong with him/her. Reach out to connect with real friends (who don’t participate in any kind of bullying). Unplugging from technology by taking  break from smartphones, computer, tablet, and social media can also help. Don’t respond to any messages or posts, no matter how hurtful or untrue. Responding will only make the situation worse and provoking a reaction from the one is exactly what the cyber bullies want, so don’t give them the satisfaction.
Report threats of harm and inappropriate sexual messages to the police. In many cases, the cyber bully’s actions can be prosecuted by law.

If bullying or cyberbullying leads to you, or someone you know, feeling suicidal, please call 1-800-273-8255 in the U.S., or visit IASP or  Suicide.org to find a helpline in your country.
STAY SAFE.
