Sundar Pichai and Tim Cook Announce Apple-Google Partnership For Tracing COVID-19 Cases
Apple and Google have joined hands to fight against the spread of the novel Coronavirus. The two tech majors, fierce competitors for a while, have came together in the wake of the ongoing bio-disaster to help develop COVID-19 contact tracker solutions and for this, the companies aim to use the bluetooth technology. As per a recent post by Google, the two tech majors are now planning to tackle this issue through contact tracing.
The aim is to help the governments and health agencies develope technical tools to fight the COVID-19 spread. A critical element in this fight is to stop the transmission of the disease, which usually takes place by being in close proximity to anyone infected by the Coronavirus. Contact tracing can help slow the spread of COVID-19 and can be done without compromising user privacy.
Well Apple and Google plan to initially release these tools in May so apps from public authorities can use the contact tracing technology. Then in coming months, the companies plan to build them directly into iOS and Android software to help more people tap into them. The partnership is just one in a series of steps that the two tech firms have taken to beat the Coronavirus Pandemic.
